Default Report: Wild James Sheppard out 4 months after ATV accident

Minnesota Wild centre James Sheppard was in an ATV accident on Monday while training in Vail, Colo., and sustained a serious knee injury which will sideline him for up to four months, according to a report in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Wild coach Todd Richards told the Tribune that the injury was to Sheppard's kneecap, and the 22-year-old player has already had surgery.

The Wild had re-signed Sheppard to a one-year contract in June. He had two goals and four assists in 64 games for the Wild last season. He has 11 goals and 38 assists in 224 games over his three seasons spent in the NHL, all with the Wild.
