Getzlaf and Selanee...Anaheim in trouble.
Getzlaf re-injured his left ankle (yes, its the same place he was injured before the Olpympics), while Selanee has an upperbody injury and will undergo tests monday.

Sucks for the Ducks
I don't think Getzlaf ever recovered from his ankle injury, to be honest. I think a lot of people (myself included) speculate that he played through the injury and didn't give it any time to heal.
Hopefully everything goes good for the Ducks!

One of the most mind-boggling seasons from a team...
The Ducks have the talent on that team to challenge for the cup. They may not even make the playoffs.

The Sens don't have the talent to win the Cup, we have two players that come to mind as star players to any fan of the other 29 teams in the NHL - Alfie and Spezza.
Anaheim though has Perry, Getzlaf, Selanne, Neidermayer, Bobby Ryan, hell even Jonas Hiller who are all recognizable names. It's just that somehow the Sens manage to get chemistry more often than not while the Ducks don't click or get injured.

So true. I expected the Ducks to finish somewhere near 2nd in the West. Selanne's done IMO, he can only play 15 or so games at a time before getting hurt now...

I don't know.
We have like eight top 6 foward...Any of our 3 lines could be 1st actually.
We have a PP quarterback, 3 great defensive defensemen
We have good PK unit.
What we don't have is PP scoring, a starter goalie, and consistency. Thats really it IMO.
I think Kovalev is pretty well known , but yah, pretty much people only know Alfie and Spezza as a superstars.

Yea forgot about Kovalev.
Well, my point is that as fans of a team, we get so into our own team that we know every player, what they can do and how amazing our lineup can be. However, there are 29 other teams in the NHL and fans of those teams know as much about us as we do about them.
Hell, say I was a Pens fan, I wouldn't know much about the Sens and Ducks but looking at the players I did know, I'd think the Ducks would be much better.

Eight top 6 forwards? Spezza, Alfie, Michalek, Kovy, Fisher and possibly Cullen (he hasn't lived up to his potential in Ottawa so far). The rest of the players numbers aren't good enough for top 6..yet.
I wish Karlsson was a PPQB, but at this time, I don't think he is quite yet. He'll most certainly become one. He makes good passes, has a good shot, has amazing vision, but if you're a PPQB you gotta have more than one goal.

Set up Karlsson for the one-timer and i swear to god that stat will change.
Just for you Brandon i will name, in tonights game against the leafs, the number of times Ottawa set up Karlsson for his bullet shot instead of passing it to him cause of no other option.

What about Foligno? And maybe Regin perhaps too!
True, exactly what I think.
But its not cause its Karlsson. I heard that almost every rookie defensemen tries to pass to their partner (who is more than likely a veteran) or the star players.

I like Regin and Foligno - I think they're great players, but they haven't put up the offense to be top 6 forwards yet. Regin has 21 points in 63 games. He's great defensively but the offensive numbers aren't there yet. Foligno has 23 points in 49 games. I love Regin and Foligno, and I really missed Foligno's never-die attitude and gritty play, and I for sure think they'll become great top 6 forwards in the future, but right now I don't consider them top 6 material.
I think Karlsson is having a great year and all, but to be a PPQB you've gotta have more than one goal. I think he'll become a PPQB as soon as next year, though. His passes are great, but he needs to score more goals. And I really like Karlsson. Just like PascalLeclaire, I've got his jersey. However, I think he's gonna score a huge goal in the playoffs this year.
