Coyotes moving to Winnepeg for 2010/11
HockeyBuzz.com - Peter Tessier - They are coming home! The Coyotes ARE returning to Winnipeg!!!!

Well here it is: the scoop. The one that matters and the one you heard first. The Coyotes are coming not the Thrashers and yes, Mr. David Thomson is involved. The team will be moving to Winnipeg for next season and the thank god. At least this team has a fighting chance versus the previous rumoured option of Atlanta.

GREAT news 13 I can not say enough about how happy I am to see another NHL team in Canada eh. Winnipeg is a great hockey town that will draw a good fan base. Do you think they will call themselves the Jets? The flying Coyotes Perfect news made my freakin day.

If they go back to Winnipeg, IF they do, they will be one of my favourite teams.
But if the come back, they better be the Jets.

"""It looks like all the Gary Bettman sightings in Winnipeg weren't so crazy after all. Mind you if you're not already calling me crazy you will if this doesn't happen, and probably a few more things I'd rather you not say. ""
Explain this ^^ please
I can’t wait to hear all the whining going on here in Hamilton if this deal goes through, there is no way this town could/would support an NHL team though…… IMHO

Oooh I would have to have them my second fav team!
Jets have sooo many childhood memories for me! First NHL game I ever played, even have a few shirts and hats! But I'd want them to be the Jets again! haha....
That would be awesome... it would add some extra fun to going to visit family in Winnipeg!

This team is making playoffs this year, and they are still moving it ? I'm a bit pissed off.
What are the fans there thinking ? Does the attendance go over 10,000 ?

The Coyotes' attendance figures revealed - From The Rink
No figures for 2010
Why are you mad about getting another Canadian team?

Haha. I have nothing against it, but I really like this team in Phoenix. The return of the Jets would be great also.
I'm from Poland

Dammit, I'm sort of confused.
An year ago I would be ecstatic even though it's a rumour. Now, not only do I not live in Canada so the whole feeling is gone, but I think the Coyotes have potential with this team and could stay alive in the desert.
However, if the management says the same, a possible move of this up and coming, PLAYOFF, team will do wonders for fans in Winnipeg. What's quite interesting, is that if it happens and if it happens next season, Shane Doan will actually be coming back to Winnipeg as he started with Jets and has yet to leave the team God knows how many seasons later.
