Just received a call from Marty Havlat, all his equipment was destroyed in the van fire.

- Allan Walsh, Havlat's agent

I heard he was the reason Markov got injured.

I also heard he rigged the Toronto Maple Leaf nets, making them bigger than the average NHL net.

Game cancelled ? No way. Equipment will most likely arrive from Minnesota as soon as possible.

Hope Wild will win this one !

It's going to be very tough for the Wild players to adjust to new equipment. Practice equipment isn't the same as game equipment. Game equipment is more broken into for being used longer.

Just imagine how much Niklas Backstrom is going to have to adjust. All of his gear, destroyed. And it's hardest for a goaltender to adjust to non-broken into equipment. Equipment needs about two weeks of being broken into for it to be comfortable for a player to use, like the Wild players' previous equipment -- now burnt, was.

It will also be tough for Martin Havlat, who had his custom made knee braces burnt in the fire. They are replaceable, but not so quickly, so Havlat could be in trouble here. He was injury free last year because of the braces, and had unrelated knee injuries at a point this season because of the braces, but now, anything can happen.

This will be tough for the Minnesota Wild to adjust too. It's very unfortunate. First time I've ever heard of something like this happen. I wanna know what caused the fire.

Check out the roof from burned out truck from Wild equipment ... on Twitpic
Inside of burned Ottawa equipment truck from Wild fire on Twitpic

-It took Havlat one month to break in to new skates.
-Anton Khudobin on way to Ottawa in case Backstrom/Harding say they can't start w new equipment.
-Sheppard, Schultz, Koivu, Clutterback, Havlat, Backstrom, Harding equipment all gone.
-Nick Schultz has to use skates from his house that he uses to play pond hockey for and has picked up a pair of shoulder pads from Play It Again sports in Ottawa.
-Every single stick was destroyed.
-Backstrom says he's good to start.
-Backstrom was 'as uptight as anyone has ever seen him before.' You could tell he was worried.

I bet Saku Koivu is happy he didn't sign with the Wild now.
