It's going to be very tough for the Wild players to adjust to new equipment. Practice equipment isn't the same as game equipment. Game equipment is more broken into for being used longer.
Just imagine how much Niklas Backstrom is going to have to adjust. All of his gear, destroyed. And it's hardest for a goaltender to adjust to non-broken into equipment. Equipment needs about two weeks of being broken into for it to be comfortable for a player to use, like the Wild players' previous equipment -- now burnt, was.
It will also be tough for Martin Havlat, who had his custom made knee braces burnt in the fire. They are replaceable, but not so quickly, so Havlat could be in trouble here. He was injury free last year because of the braces, and had unrelated knee injuries at a point this season because of the braces, but now, anything can happen.
This will be tough for the Minnesota Wild to adjust too. It's very unfortunate. First time I've ever heard of something like this happen. I wanna know what caused the fire.
