Weekly Preview #8
I'd like to start this off by saying it will not be as in depth as Josh or Matt's articles. I didn't have much time to throw this together.
What You've Missed:
The Senators had a good home stand, gaining 7 of 8 possible points. Alex Kovalev flew to Russia after the Senators 6-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. It's unknown at this point if he'll be back for tonight's game against the Washington Capitals. Anton Volchenkov is still out, and it is unknown when he'll return.
During the 2nd period of the Sabres game, Pascal Leclaire was run into and was slow to get up. Brian Elliott started the 3rd period. After the game coach Cory Clouston said that the injury was not related to Pascal's ankle. Clouston said "Leclaire will be fine" which is good news.
Around The League:
Chicago @ Vancouver 22/11 - Daniel Sedin played his first game since breaking his foot. Unfortunately the Canucks were shutout in a 1-0 victory for Chicago.
What's Coming Up:
We've got a difficult 10 days ahead of us. We're facing Columbus, The Bruins, San Jose, and the Kings. This will be a big test for our team's consistency.
The Senators are set to face the Washington Capitals tonight at SBP. Volchenkov will not be in the line up, and Kovalev is "doubtful" according to Clouston. Kovalev was not at this morning's practice.
Who's Hot:
- Steven Stamkos - 7 points in his last 6 games, had a highlight goal against the Anaheim Ducks (PUT HIM ON TEAM CANADA!). He also scored the gamer winner in OT against the Atlanta Thrashers.
- Dany Heatley - Currently leading the league in goals scored. Had a hat trick against the Philadelphia Flyers, has 8 points in the last 6 games.
