Lets think of this from a Duck's fan's perspective. What would you want for Bobby Ryan, your former 2nd overall pick. They need puck-moving defensemen, so Kuba is a no-brainer. They would want a left winger to replace Ryan. Michalek would be ideal but that is a lot of cap for them to take on. Then again they do have a lot of space, maybe Kuba+Michalek+ a pick or prospect.

If they needed a puck moving defenseman so badly they would have traded for Kaberle when the opportunity was there.

I think the likelihood of this actually happening is pretty slim.
I would give Regin for Ryan, no sweat. Kuba helps their back end, and we could also reasonably afford to give one of Campoli or Lee.

When Kaberle was available, maybe they didn't realize they would have this much trouble signing Ryan. Also Kaberle has made it pretty clear he wants to stay in the East and he only has one year left on his contract, so had Anaheim acquired him, good chance they'd be trading away their best young player only to lose Kaberle next summer.
And Anaheim does need another puck-moving defenseman. Look at their current roster, a blind person could tell you that.

I would agree that the chances of this happening are very small, but I do believe they are there. Ottawa has plenty of assets to pull off a trade of this magnitude. Thornton, Heatley, Luongo, Phaneuf and the like have made it clear that all it takes is a couple pretty good players and a pick or prospect to acquire a superstar when when the salary cap is involved.

Visnovsky-Lydman
Sutton-Brookbank
Sbisa-Festerling
This is not a very solid D in any respect. Am I missing anyone here?

Fowler, they already signed him to a contract and there is some speculation that they are keeping a roster spot open in case he makes the team. But yeah, losing Neidermayer and trading away Wisnieski has left their blueline depleted.

There isn't too many teams in the NHL who's D looks worse than Anaheim, As I said in one of my first posts Kuba will be gone if any deal is made otherwise I lose my shit!
I really hope this is true and BM is after Bobby Ryan, Marc Savard or Shea Weber (my personal want) I tell Poile if you want Fish, it's got to result in us getting Weber
I'd love to see Michalek moved, there is life after Chris Kelly, ohh,,, did I mention we don't need Kuba

Speaking of backdoorpass, what's this post on HF supposed to mean?
"Yesterday an altercasion between backdoorpass and Yost began over these trade rumours that have been occuring the past few days mainly beginning with BDP's post which set off a flurry of posts about it. Now due to this being leaked all over the place BDP personally asked that his posts be deleted. He personally has decided to leave HF and no longer post any sort of insider information he has."

Bloggers started picking up what he was posting and posting it in their blogs refering to him specifically. He wanted to keep it less formal/not have his name tied to everything.

BDP said senschirp talked to him first and didn't refer specifically to him so he was fine with it

How can you fault Yost though? BDP publicly posted it on the internet lol, it's not like HF is a small time hockey board. If someone posted inside stuff here and wanted our members to keep it low key, I'd understand, but with the amount of people on there, imo BDP can't complain
