Tough Test in Washington
The Ottawa Senators have had their struggles away from Scotiabank Place this season, posting a 6-10-1 record as the visitors and will now play six of their next seven on the road.
Tough test ahead for the Senators for sure.
The road swing starts with a date with the Washington Capitals and their newly appointed Captain, Alex Ovechkin. The Caps are one of the leagues toughest home teams with a 13-3-3 record at the Verizon Center.
The match up game will be key for the Senators tonight. They'll want to get the pair of Phillips and Volchenkov out against Ovechkin whenever possible but obviously that can be tough when you don't have last change.
Here are the forward combinations...
Shannon-Fisher-Kovalev
Michalek-Regin-Foligno
Ruutu-Kelly-Neil
Donovan-Winchester-Cheechoo
Pascal Leclaire gets the start despite missing practice yesterday. Kovalev also didn't skate but will be good to go tonight. Campoli is the healthy scratch.
I'll actually be live blogging this one for theScore.com. I'll post the link a little later this afternoon. The game is being broadcast on TSN.
Should be fun......
