What can you say really?

Just an absolutely dominant performance from Alex Kovalev this afternoon against the Flyers. Kovalev has been the Senators best forward for the last month or so and today notched his first career 4 goal and had 5 points on the afternoon.

Fans love to rag on this guy and I really don't understand why. He has been everything the Senators could have hoped and has started 2010 on an incredible note. Here's hoping they continue to drop for him.

Goaltending was pretty suspect for both teams but it was nice to see Ottawa come out and take control of this game in the final 20 minutes.

Some ugly numbers on the Flyers side of things tonight. Forward Claude Giroux was an incredible -6.

On a day when AK27 stole the show the Senators got great efforts from several players. Chris Kelly notched three points on the night and was solid all game long. Ryan Shannon and Anton Volchenkov had three assists a piece. Shannon has really elevated his game with the recent injuries.

Terrific offensive display overall. Definitely some goaltending and defensive concerns but nice to see the Sens pull together and grab the two points.

This is round 2 of the Kovalev show. Round 1 was on December 12th.

Everybody Kovalev plays with gets better. He makes them better. Fisher already has more goals than the whole last season, and he has one less point. Shannon has four goals, three assists in five games. And he's been a great player for us in the shootout.

Kovalev has been Ottawa's best player for a month or so.

Annnnnna WHO didnt like the signing of kovalev? This guy has easily been one of the best senaators out there since spezza and alfy went down to injuries no questions asked shannon and regin IMO are the other front runners
