New Year's Eve Game Day
The Ottawa Senators will look to close 2009 on a positive note tonight when they play host to John Tavares and the New York Islanders.
It was one year ago to the day that John Tavares electrified Scotiabank Place as he led Team Canada to a thrilling win over the United States. Tonight the rookie sensation returns to the scene of the crime.
Meanwhile, the Senators are looking to bounce back from a tough loss last night to the Avs on home ice. Clouston is expected to make one line up change tonight meaning Erik Karlsson could draw back into the line up. Picard or Campoli would come out.
The decision will be made later today.
The forward combinations were juggled a little bit towards the end of the game last night and with the Senators not skating this morning we won't know how they'll line up till tonight.
Here's hoping Nick Foligno sees a little more ice time. Pascal Leclaire will get the start in goal.
Quick rumour sent my way late yesterday. It said that the Senators may be interested in Coyotes forward Scottie Upshall. Upshall is having a solid year in Phoenix with 13 goal and is currently making $1.5 mil a season and is scheduled to be an RFA at season's end.
Lastly, good luck to Team Canada tonight as they face off against their rivals from the United States in a showdown for top spot in the pool.
GO CANADA GO!
GO SENS GO!
Let's close out 2009 in style!
