You know who a dirty player is, someone who doesn't often come up in such discussions? Corey Perry.

 Definitely.
But the accepted term for a dirty player who puts up lots of points is "gritty"

I don't watch enough of the Ducks to assess a fair opinion on that one. I'll take your word for it.

I love Perry, but I agree he is a dirty player. I love the game he plays, though. He plays a hard, gritty game every shift and has a lot of offensive talent. He's a great heart and soul player.

Kuba's big but he's teddy-bear soft.
Sutton AND Volchenkov on this team means that the Sens are able to play defensive minded, shut down hockey.

yes kuba isnt a hard hitting defensmen at all but when you look at the size and strenth of 4 guys mentioned then having one of our puck moving d-man being 6'4 is a huge plus

I do agree......when they play like they did the last two games..well, 3. The game in Dallas wasn't entirely bad...
Its mind-boggling how this team can go for dud to stud overnight. It makes me so mad sometimes. I hate when they play like they did after the break..knowing how much talent there is on that team. Honestly, I did not want this team in the playoffs looking like they did last week...and they still have to show some consistency. They can't go on another losing streak....
I don't mind a lost that much if the team played well, kept it simple and showed the effort...with just no puck luck (and stupid refs <--couldn't help myself ) and I know they can't win them all. But last week...and the one before that...

You know what's ironic? Vermette has more goals this season than anyone on the Sens.
He's having a great season in Columbus with 25 goals so far (new record for him in the NHL.)
Granted, a big factor in that success was the change in scenery, and I don't think he would have 25 goals if he was a Senator, it just makes me wish we still had him.

Is he playing his natural position in Columbus? In Ottawa he was used as winger most of the time.

Playing as a center on their top line. I think he centers Rick Nash and RJ Umberger.

Clouston says Volchenkov could possibly play tomorrow, but Michalek not until the last few games of the season.
