Just thought I'd share this. There is no other team in the Eastern Conference who has shut down Crosby more than the Sens. He only has two goals in 16 games vs the Sens (regular season) in his career!
Wait a second..this team had Martin Gerber! How did Crosby only score two goals vs a team that had Martin Gerber as their starter for a while??

Thats pretty impressive... I don't think its just Gerber who shut him down though!
Crosby is a little whimpy, so if we come on strong and physically I think he won't do too much.,

Yep. Even in the 8-2 win over Ottawa, Crosby didn't score a goal. And the last time the Penguins played in Ottawa, Volchenkov was injured and we still shut down Crosby. But there is one thing Crosby always does good against every team, including Ottawa: diving.

I don't know if you still rememeber...
But there was this game where Gerber was in net and Crosby had 3 breakaways against him and Gerber shut him down.
Gerber ALSO shut him down in the shootout just to have..*ahem*...Ruutu win it for them in the shootout
Glad the difference maker is on OUR side now hehe.

lol no idea.
Though...Of ALLLLLL the things Gerber sucks at, he was a very solid goaltender facing a player on the breakaway.

The reason why i believe the Sens will win tonight is because we beat them 6-2 last time.
Last time we made little work of them and Fleury was in net so no excuses.
Also Elliot is on a hot streak, which is what i think will be the difference maker.
Sens defence last game against the Penguins was dispicable and the defence now is SO much better.

I think if we keep up the pace we've been going at, we could win, and if its a loss I say it will be in OT. Or at least super close.
I agree, that our team is a different team. And I'm not saying a win would surprise me, but neither would a loss right now. I would be totally THRILLED with a win though, and I seem to only watch games the Sens win... so I'm figuring all will be well!!!

Actually, last time those two teams met, it was in December, in Pittsburgh and Ottawa suffered a serious whipping...8-2

He was LEGENDARY on the breakaway of all things, that's what I remember most about him. One of a rare few goalies that has a great poke check without giving up lots of 5 hole.
He was let down TERRIBLY when the puck went behind the net.

Yea, when ever the game would go to a shootout i knew we were going to win the game. Unfortunately for us we only went into like 6 shootouts with Gerbs in net.
We were 4-2 in that category...i believe.

True, but we are a completely different team.
Let's not forget that 4 out of our 7 game winning streak have come on the road in tough ice.
MSG, Bell Center(Which you attended ), B's twice.
Also the Sens before were horrible. Defence bad, so much people missing etc...

I rolled the 100 bones double or nothing that the Senators go 10 and 0. I think they also killed over 25 penalties in a row.
