Default Will Volchenkov make 1000?
Apparently, there is no write up anywhere about this but if Volchenkov blocks just one more shot in tonight game with Calgary, he will have reach 1000 block shots since 2005. This will make him the all time leading block shot player in the NHL. Heard this on the Team1200 coming home from work.

Go Volchie Go!!

He'll do a block with his face on Stajan. Iginla will be waiting in the slot and will one time the rebound and Elliott will grab it with his glove!

Crap...thats kinda crazy!

Wait...does this mean the guy who is tied with Volchie had 999 block shots? It musta suck for him...

Anyways Volchie is a tank, Murray needs to re-sign this guy

Yes this is very impressive but don't forget, blocked shots has only been an officially recorded stat since the year after the lockout in 2005/06.

You can bet your bottom dollar, house, car and your sweatshirt that had blocked shots been recorded, Jay McKee and Craig Ludwig would have Gretzky-like untouchable numbers in this area.

But in the 5 years since the lockout Volchenkov has finished 6th, 1st, 2nd, 8th and is currently 6th this year.

My favourite game from this season had to be vs Washington. 11 blocked shots?!?! That's amazing. And they were on the Ovechkin - Backstrom - Knuble line, too.
