Default Ottawa Senators Report Cards?

The season is almost over, and we can roughly tell who played well and who didn't.

If you are going to grade the players, what marks will you give?

P.S. Don't put BS marks, for example: Daniel Alfredsson - A+

Cause we all know that Alfie has been our best player, but he really doesn't deserve that mark, infact nobody in the Senators does.

Just copy my reportcard, and delete the marks (so you can make your own).

OTTAWA SENATORS REPORT CARD

I am not understanding the Ruutu, Winchester low marks.. Winnie is a spark plug and Ruutu draws a lot of penalties and still is scoring pretty decently

So far Foligno has been rated C+, C+, and C. Any reasons why you guys gave him such a low grade?

I am not against judging the team individually! haha... so here goes!

THE OTTAWA SENATORS REPORT CARD

Daniel Alfredsson: A+

This is because of how he brings the team together, the team is phenomenally better with him playing, and seems to flop a bit when Alfie isn't in the lineup!

Kovalev: B+

Fisher: A

Because he's gotten tonnes better this year!

Cullen: B+

He's been great, and can't wait to see more from him!

Spezza: C+ (pre-injury) .... A (post injury)

He was invisible until he came back from injury. Now I wouldn't want him to leave!

Michalek: A-

Kuba: C+

He has the offensive skill, but really drops the bucket defensively.

Kelly: B

Foligno: B+

This guy has impressed me more recently. Especially playing with Fisher. Can't wait for him to come back!

Regin: A-

Another young guy who's impressed me.

Ruutu: B-

Phillips: B+

Has definitely picked up his game this year! Keep it up

Neil: B

He's one of the solid guys one our team... great 3rd-4th liner!

Shannon: A-

SO glad we've signed him. He's quick and awesome!

Campoli: C+

Cheechoo: C+

While he couldn't produce... he seriously worked hard. And I like that!

Sutton: A-

Can't wait for him to do more! Happy he's excited to be in Ottawa (I guess its closer to home).

Volchenkov: B+

Karlsson: A

I do have to give this kid credit... one of our top D's (love him with sutton)!

Winchester: B

I don't think he's that bad. THere have been numerous games I've been impressed with him!

Carkner: B+

A fighter, and he does what he's supposed to.

Donovan: C

Lee: B-

I think this guy will be decent! Honestly do. He's not played a tonne of games, but I am excited to watch him continually improve! He's been great the last few times he's played!

Smith: B+

For being randomly called up, and on short notice a few times, he's been great!

Elliot: A

His game has changed a bit. And he seems to have the confidence. Saved our butts more than a few times!

Leclaire: B+

He's had an unfortunate year. And that sucks! I feel bad for the guy. So accident prone. I think if he has a totally healthy year, he will be great!!! He has the skill, but needs a good healthy year to prove it!

Brodeur: A-

With the very little we've seen from him, I've loved what I've seen! He's helped the sens turn it around!

He hasn't played recently. Foligno, that is.

I dunno, I was expecting him to be a 20-20 guy, maybe if he hadn't been injured his grade could be higher. He's a servicable, 3rd line LW that can play 2nd line minutes IMO.

The only issue I have with Foligno was his lack of finish. It reminded me a lot of how Spezza was playing in the first half of the season. He'd make great moves, finish his checks, etc. but when it came to scoring he was always snake-bitten it seemed.

That being said, I can't wait for him to be back in our lineup.

Honestly, with Foligno --- I see TONNES of potential. For only being 22 years old, he's a pretty darn good player, and I've seen him get better the last few weeks before he got hurt. So he has average points for sens players (23 points). But has improved each year he's played with the sens! (year one: 9 points (45 games played) year two: 32 points (81 games played) year three: 23 points (43 games played)). So yeah, he play have more points in year two, but has played twice as much, almost. I'll stick up for him! He is young!

I've got no problems with Foligno being on this team, all I'm saying is that he has potential to reach, rather than actually having, a proven high performance level.

I agree completely, he's shown boat loads of potential, he just hasn't been able to convert it into statistics.

I agree with this. But I wouldn't give him a C. Maybe its because in school for me a C was a fail! Haha, and I do NOT think he's failed at all. Not the best guy out there, but has the potential to be that way. Give him time!

As for stats, they don't always mean everything. Fisher had never had the stats (most for a season being 48), and I would say the team would have been worse without him.

Just an example, last year Foligno and Fisher got equal points (32)... but I'd say everyone would say Fisher was the better player.

The only C I would ever give Foligno would be on his chest in a few years

Just a stat about Foligno --- he has the highest +/- ratio on the sens sitting at +13.

Well a C for me was a pass and anything below C- was a fail.

I am happy with Foligno's progress, I just don't think he's done developing yet. Same with Regin.
