Alfredsson: A++ I am not being homer just stating what i see. When this guy is not playing with the team. They look lost, completely horrible, needing of guidance. He makes everything happen for this team. He is on pace for a point per game while still one of the best defensively. Easily the most complete player on this roster since he first got the C on his jersey.
Spezza: Before Injury: D+ After Injury: A Total: B There were moments in the beginning of the season when i would swear every time Spezza got on the ice. He looked so stupid and nothing more than a 3rd line center. After his injury he became completely different. His shots were perfectly accurate, his dekes were as if he had a string attached to the puck. Just brilliant, everything you need from a number 1 center.
Kovalev: B- When he's been hot, no one has even come close to his skill. When he's been cold. Jim O'Brien seems like a better fit. The only reason he got a B- is his skill level and how he has single-handedly changed games this season for the Sens. Work Ethic= F-.
Fisher: B- Yes he did get a breakout year but became invisible for the past 20 games. He has an amazing combination of skill and grit which makes him the perfect guy for any playoff run. However his salary is still a tad to high.
Michalek: A- When this guy would get on the ice i would get on the edge of my seat. When ever this guy is on the offensive zone he can all of a sudden use his speed and BAM! Scoring chance! In the beginning of the season he tore it up and looked like an all-star sniper but ever since he's been a little inconsistent with points here and there. I was going to give him a B-B+ but what made me stick with an A is as Droc said, WORK ETHIC!
Foligno: A- One of the hardest working guys on the team. He NEVER gives up on a play and has potential to be one of the best power-forwards in the game. He combines dekeing with strong forechecking as if it were an online game. Outstanding young lad who like Flex said, i could DEFINITELY see a C on his chest. Points for his experience and role is perfect enough.
Kuba: D *Shakes head* And to believe i thought this year he would get over 50 points while stacking up the +/-. I was right though for all the wrong reasons. He may lead our defense in points but he probably also leads our team in most assists for the other team. 6'5 yet a rat can out muscle him. The real reason why i got him a D is because with Karlsson now as this team's number 1 offensive defense man...This team has no place left for Kuba all he does is just cost us games.
Cullen: A- He has been our most consistent player since we acquired him. So why should he get anything less than an A-? Pk, PP, EV he plays it all. Also our team's best clutch face-off man.
Regin: A Averages 12 minutes of ice time and is responsible single-handedly for some games we won. He has been quiet as of late but mostly due to the fact that he is still in his learning process but what he has offered this team as a rookie is beyond exceptional.
Ruutu: A+ The most consistent Senator this season. Hands down. If he is not scoring goals out there he is preventing them or driving the other teams nuts to the max.
Kelly: B- IMO his best year as a Senator. His role is the reason why he got a B- and not a C or a D. He has been snake bitten but nevertheless creating chances. The playoffs will be his real test.
Neil: B GRIT! and MORE GRIT! Can't ask for enough and chipped in with some goals to help out the team, everything you need from a 3rd liner. Best part is, i barely notice him in the penalty box anymore!
Shannon: B Amazing forward that has helped this team and played recently beyond all expectations. Though, he looked completely lost in the beginning of the season. Time should give him the chance he needs to be an effective weapon.
Cheechoo: D+ Work ethic was definitely there but nothing else came from him. Defensively he was also very poor. Injuries caught up to him if anything.
Campoli: C Was just horrible in the beginning but seemed to get better. Though with the up and coming Cowen and Wiercioch it seems more and more than his time with the Sens might be over.
Phillips: A- Rare breakdowns but thats all it is. RARE. Solid defense man who seems to be getting stronger and stronger just amazing.
Volchenkov: A- His puck-handling is as scary as Godzilla ripping up Japan but when it comes to the defensive aspect of the game i don't think there is anyone better.
Erik Karlsson: A+ ELITE. If anyone on this forum knows me they would know how much times i scream his name when he touches the puck. He NEVER EVER gives up on a play no matter if it's on the offensive zone or the defensive zone or even both! Franchise written all over him.
Sutton: A- Filip Who? Strong as nails defensively and has some SOFT HANDS! 6'6 240+ pounds, come playoff time, this guy will be a FORCE! Hasn't played a lot yet for the Sens but has played exceptional in the games he has played.
Carkner: B- For his first year in the NHL he has played exceptionally well. Team player is his best attribute and strength is his strongest.
Lee: Before: C- After: B+ Total: C+ I thought he was a lost cause. Now i'm thinking that top 4 potential is still in him!
Winchester: C+ Grit, determination, hardworking. Everything in him except for strong offensive instincts which is the only thing stopping him from being an amazing all-around player. He also hasn't been playing as strong as of late.
Smith: B+
Donovan: C+
Elliot: B+ Has played so much exceptional but hasn't stole as much games for us as a starter should.
LeClaire: C+ Still has the potential....That's all is left in him.
Brodeur: A- 3-0 1 shutout 1 GAA 0.966 SV% Yes only 3 games but IMO the 3 most important games.
That's all
Yes i rated some of them high but all i have to say to you is look at where the Sens are they all deserved each and every credit.
