Well, let's see what money he gets first before we call this a win/fail. As I said to S19 on Twitter, he couldn't very well let the guy walk for nothing, he's a 1st round pick.

I agree, we couldn't let him walk for nothing. I'm just very curious to see the amount though.

I dunno, I'm still concerned about facing Toronto in the playoffs given the history...

This means that Murray meant to sign Karlsson! Now it makes sense.

What was TSN to do?

They both look like they're age 12.

From what I've seen of Lee's play recently...This is awesome news.

He is really showing the potential that we all expected him to for a top 4.

He needs more time and i believe 2 years is perfect time for him to develop and to evaluate if he is going to continue his career with this franchise.

I think it's a good signing, assuming it's somewhat cheap (under 1.25 million or under). In two years when the contract is done we should have one year of seeing Wiercioch and Cowen. Then we can decide if Lee still fits in.

Defensemen take a while to develop. Volchenkov wasn't the same rock he was now at the beginning of the 06-07 season. He still has potential.

The more signings that happen the more clear it's becoming Volchenkov's days in Ottawa are being threatened.
