This exaclty. After Picard took that penalty (when he's supposed to be trying to earn a spot) right after we killed one against toronto (which we eventually got scored on) I was like k f this guy.

I thought you meant the whole defence.

Still there is Campbell. And Seabrook still can get 30 points.

I beleve i should work on my spelling. Back on topic, I beleve that Sens defense is decent Phillips, and Volchenkov are playing okayyy but, Kuba, Picard, Carkner... they should practice more get better and stop getting so many penalties. When Karlsson is in the line up the whole team come together, we can do that with anyone but the problem is that we don't have a defenceman that has the powerful and accurate shit and checking on the Sens as much as Karlsson. This kid has amazing, exciting... He has the OUMF that the Sens need to succeed because he has the excitment the Sens need. All the other defense man are boring when they are playing. All i'm saying is that if our defense is as excited as Karlsson well do good as a NHL francise.

I wouldn't give up on Leclaire yet, I still think he can turn it around.

I agree, I think it would be cool if we could get him. It'd be even better if we could include Picard and/or Lee in that deal.

In an off-ice way, it would help promote the team, and could give fans a whole new motivation to cheer for the Sens.

AK27 and I were talking about trying to add Michalek a couple weeks ago. And I recall some other people talking about it even a month before that. He is an unrestricted free agent at seasons end but I don't see any chance of Phoenix letting him go. We would have to pay a very steep price that would likely have to include either Phillips or Volchenkov.

This and Phoenix is not a seller, in this case, unfortunately.

We can't be talking about buying off assets from teams that are as good or better than us, you know, they're contending too.

Personally, I hope we pick up a couple Coyotes in the off season.

Upshall
Z. Michalek
Mikkel Boedker

I think that if Phoenix can't sign the top two, Ottawa should try to trade for their rights before the draft.

Trade say... Our Second, Kelly, Campoli and Lee for Boedker, and include Kuba if Michalek signs.

Michalek Spezza Alfredsson
Foligno Fisher Kovalev
Boedker Regin Upshall
Ruutu Z. Smith Neil

Phillips Volchenkov
Kalrsson Z
Carkner ??? (I would deal for Smid)

Pretty sure the caphit would be fine too.

Boedker is not availlable. Mueller is the young Coyote who has been involved in trade talks. Don't really see us getting him either though. And, as much as I hate it, Phoenix CERTAINLY WILL be able to sign all of these players in the off-season. They have a lot of cap space.

But then again they must have some kind of self-imposed budget by ownership... considering their owner is the NHL... For now. But the Ice Edge group is buying them soon so I'm sure they will spend freely and get everybody locked up.

I still think the only real possibility of us getting Michelek is if he doesn't want to stay in Phoenix just because it is Phoenix (and he wants to play in a hockey market). In which case we don't have the cap room to sign him but there is the trade I've mentioned before. Volchenkov for Michalek straight up.

Of course this would only be if Murray was unable to sign Volchenkov, as I think Michalek would sign for slightly less, especially with his brother here. More in the 3.5-4 million range than the 4-4.5 million Volchenkov is rumored to be after.

The are somewhat similar players. Both shutdown defensemen. Michalek doesn't have the physicality or the toughness that Volchie has but he is a touch better offensively.

I don't know how much better Karlsson can be, Karlsson got injured while playing the best hockey of his career, heck, he played better hockey than defenceman at their prime!
