There'll be lots of NHLers heading to Europe this summer, maybe even some of the "big names" still left on the market. (a la Tanguay)

Hm, I read that guys like Tanguay (also Comrie, Bertuzzi, etc...) have to accept less like Martin Biron did, and 1 year contracts if they want to remain in the NHL.

That's crazy.

How is it that NO team in the NHL would take PJ Axelsson? He's one of the better, experienced, cheap defensive forwards in the league.

Sad day.

Not true.. according to the blog world he was mulling over contracts from ottawa and another team before deciding to play in Sweden.

He wanted to play in his home country I guess.

Well, he`s a third pairing defenceman in the NHL, but he`ll have a bigger role in Sweden.

Axelsson isn't a defenseman.

Maybe the key point is how cheap?

Still, I always wonder how homesick the players from other countries get...maybe he just wants to go home?
