Hockey is about scoring goals and Fisher has 15 to Getzlaf's 9.

Getzlaf has set up Corey Perry and various other linemates 30 times.

And Fisher sent the hats flying for Kovalev.

Against Carolina.
Didn't Fisher have only ONE point in that game during Kovalev's hat trick anyways?

I dunno but if so, there's a prime example of Cory Clouston favoring Spezza over Fisher. I'd rather Fisher on the 1st PP unit. I bet if Fisher had the minutes Spezza did he'd have as many points as Getzlaf.
Look who Getzlaf plays with. Bobby Ryan and Corey Perry. Fisher plays with Kovalev and Foligno.

Plekanec turned Kovalev in to an 84 point getter. You say Fisher > Plekanec, so technically, shouldn't Fisher be able to turn Kovalev in to an 80+ point getter?

Fisher is a gritty, goal scoring, shutdown center. Plekanec is a playmaker.

But you know, Fisher is god according to you, so shouldn't he still be able to turn Kovalev in to a 80+ point getter.
I wonder what that makes Plekanec!

Plekanec is a better playmaker. I'll give him that.

This is ridiculous. I like Fisher as much as anybody, but Getzlaf is so obviously the better player its not even funny.
Anyways, as for the World Juniors... How about Tedenby? He looked sick tonight. The only 2 players on Sweden I thought looked good were him and Paajarvi-Svensson. Silfverberg looked pretty solid too. Andre Petersson was invisible. I don't know what happened with Markstrom. That was the same guy that many scouts are calling the best goaltending prospect in hockey? The same guy who was named goaltender of the tournament last year? (for the record, I thought it should have gone to Janus).
As for Canada, pretty much everyone looked good. Cowen was as solid as ever, making simple plays, clearing the front of the net, getting the puck out along the boards, sure didn't stand out tonight but all those little things are the things that are gonna be helping Canada win games in the later stages of the tournament. That bite sized line of Bourque-Kadri-Kozun was a lot of fun to watch when together. Could make for a good energy line if the coaching staff decides the size isn't TOO much of an issue.
Based on what I saw tonight I would go with lines like this:
McMillan-Schenn-Eberle
Hall-Henrique-Nemisz
Della Rovere-Cormier-Caron
Bourque-Kadri-Kozun
Adams
Pietrangello-Hamonic
Scandella-Teubert
Cowen-Ellis
De Haan
Doesn't look like Jones is gonna get many games in, Allen was rock solid.

For the game:
Our PP looks much more simple than last year. Get it to the point, work it around on the outside and then force the defense to collapse as we work the puck in and get opportunities.
I'm jealous of the Oilers. Pajaarvi-Svensson looked amazing. Great outside speed.
Jacob Markstrom. LOL, still hate him. I remember last year in the gold medal game. It was dive-a-mania in that one on his part. He's so easy to rattle, just get in front of him.
I'm also jealous of the St. Louis Blues. They already have a goaltending tandem set for the future in Jack Allen and Ben Bishop.

Team Canada looking good as usual. Sweeds also a little pissed at Ottawa for holding back Erik Karlsson one would think. Can't wait for the Gold medal game

CTV Olympics - Olympic Power Rankings - Centre
Fisher is ranked 5th. Getzlaf is ranked 11th.
By no means am I saying that Fisher is the next Gretzky...I'm saying that Gretzky was the next Fisher.

^ It's a computer that does those rankings. People on the board that support the same team as you say Getzlaf > Fisher, so give it up.
I don't base who is a better player of computer generated rankings, I base them off performance.

Getzlaf gets more ice time and more PP time. He gets 1 minute of PP time per game more than Fisher. That's 82 minutes over the season!! Fisher spends over twice the amount of time as Getzlaf does killing penalties. Fisher plays 19:37 minutes a game, Getzlaf plays 22:26.
Getzlaf plays with Ryan and Perry. Fisher with Foligno and Kovalev. Ryan > Foligno. Perry > Kovalev. Getzlaf has 4 more hits in two more games. Fisher's hits per game ratio is higher. Fisher has 38 blocked shots to Getzlaf's 36 and Fisher has played two less games. Getzlaf's giveaway:takeaway ratio is 28:22 = -6 in that aspect. Fisher's is 13:18 = +5. Getzlaf has given the puck away 6 more times than he's taken it away. Fisher has taken the puck away 5 more times than he's given it away.
Getzlaf on faceoffs: 48.4%
Fisher on faceoffs: 53.1%

You really want me to throw you that 'if Fisher > Plekanec, can't Fisher make Kovalev god' thing again?
Like this, you can't use that 'Fisher has no credible linemates' garbage excuse again. Now that he's playing on the top line for two months, lets see how he does...

No. Winchester is playing on the top line. Fisher is still on the second line. And I told you that Fisher isn't good at playmaking. Plekanec is. That's why he made Kovalev better.
