I think you merged the wrong threads. I think you merged the 'Primeau traded to Toronto' thread with this. LOL.

No, but I am half asleep. Didn't get to bed until 3 this morning and had to work all day in 100 degree heat. That's like 38C I believe.

How did you do that? Found the post that started the thread and the rest followed?

Pretty much, had to go through and select the entire thread (being careful not to take any posts from this thread) and moved them all to a thread in the Eastern Conference section.

Would have loved to see Hudler in a Sens uni, but this was expected.

HAHAHAHAHA! Slap in the face!
Does that make him Red Wings property? If it does... they're in big cap trouble now... over by about 3-4 mil I think?

I have no idea. Apparently, he would have to honor the contract the Wings gave him when he came back to North America or something. I have no clue, I completely forgot about this.

I think you're onto something here - isn't it now up to the team (Detroit) to accept these terms? Sorta like what happened with Zherdev and the Rangers?

Didn't they already accept it, but the contract would kick in, when and if Hudler returned to North America?

You are correct. They signed a contract before the arbitration ruling I believe. I am a little confused on the last part now though. If the contract was to "kick in" when and if Hudler was to return to North America, how does that work? Would there be a stipulation in the contract that says it is effective for the 2011/12 season, or I suppose it would say that it is in effect as soon as he plays another game for the red wings?
Yea they are now about 3.5-4 million over the cap. They will probably trade Brad Stuart (3.75 million cap hit). But they can't expect to get more than a 2nd round pick or prospect for him. But then, like people been saying about Heatley, why trade someone else who wants to be there so that someone who doesn't want to can play?
Maybe they trade Hudler, but who is gonna want him with the risk he would come with. No team would give full value. Detroit is sure in a sticky situation here.
