An updated look at the remaining free agents

The opening week of free agency saw many teams open their wallets wide to lure big names. But there still are dozens of players looking for a home, either with the team they played for in 2008-09 or one that has a hole they hope to fill.

Here's an updated look at 40 of the top unrestricted free agents still on the market (players unsigned through July 10):

In a way, some of the names on that list surprise me for still being available...on the other hand, the salary cap issues (not a huge increase this upcoming season...and a possible drop next season) makes it harder for some teams to pick up one of these players...

I'm surprise Mtl hasn't made a pitch for Lang (he was actually a huge asset before the injury)...unless they know his injury is gonna be a serious issue in the future...

And Comrie @ 2M is pretty reasonable ...

I would pay Comrie $2M.

Nittymaki only got 600,000 when he signed with the Lightning though...
