Default The Official Chicago Blackhawks Thread

I love this team ever since they drafted Toews. They're currently 1st in their division and 3rd in the West.

A win, coming from this tremendous comeback and game of the year so far. I think it'll be hard to top this one!

I had high expectations from them last year, and I am interested in seeing how things spin for them this season.
Cap issues will be a problem and the Hossa fiasco is gonna be a major downer.

In the end, I see the Blue Jackets sliding into the Hawks spot on my predictions and being the team to beat.

As Rayzor said, I knew something was going to change when they drafted Toews. After that, it was Kane.

There rookie season was great, but the hawks never played well. But after that season (which will be last year), Havlat stepped up, Sharp stepped up, Barker & Keith played great, and of course youngster such as Versteeg changed the team.

From 10th last to a team that went to the western conference finals. WOW, what an improvement.

^^ Imagine if they toppled the Wings and went to the Stanley Cup Finals in their first year back in the playoffs? Boy, that would've been something!

The Hawks HAD the Wings in tha playoff series.

So did Anaheim.

But Detroit has that certain something in their team where they raise the bar when it's necessary...it didn't happen in game 7 and that's what lost it for them.

Gord Miller suggests the Hawks NEED to clear cap, and Huet's 5.5 mil contract could be in the American Hockey League.

Yeah, Huet may be on the outer as well - it makes sense.

Huet has been horrible and is not worth the contract he has. Minors is the only choice IMO as I find it hard to believe there is a sane GM that will take that contract in a trade.

Hossa scored TWO in his Hawks debut as they DOMINATE the San Jose Sharks 7-2.

How can they not be one the top contenders for the cup this year?

The Hawks are probably the best team in the league right now. Their defense is just ridiculously good in all aspects.

Some shaky goaltending, but nothing too critical as Huet's been playing pretty good lately.

Agreed. Hawks are the best team in the NHL right now. Their top 9 is top three in the entire NHL and their defense is amazing, and Huet has been lights out lately.

About a .910 SV% and a 2.15 GAA.

The best team in the National Hockey League shutout the Red Wings tonight 3-0. Huet's third shutout of the year. Wow, this team is scary good.

I stand by my prediction, Hawks win the cup this year.
