But think about it, why is he playing on the Senators defense?
If he is a Phillips type of player where the guy gets TONS of icetime and plays on a shutdown line, yah it makes sense.
But he isn't that type of player, he should be a offensive defensemen scoring goals/points. I'm not expecting him to get like 10 goals and 25 assists. But I sometimes think that our offensive defensemen's lack goal scoring. Think Kuba, think Campoli. If they're not producing, whats the point?
Its impressive, infact I'm excited about what kind of player he will turn into. But I want him to shoot more, and score more goals than just one. I know he is a rookie, but this is just my thought. He should take that advantage of the ice-time and shoot a little more.
Just like how people were saying about Spezza too. Before the long-term injury, he was playing good defensively. He was even on the PK unit at one point. But whats the point of Spezza when he isn't scoring? After the injury, he shot more pucks. And the results are phenominal, his confidence boosted, and he is playing amazing now. Sure he is back to his "non-defensive" type of game, but which is better? Spezza that can score or Spezza that can play defense?
Spezza had great results shooting the puck more. Why not Karlsson...infact some of the Senators too !
P.S. I'm not BS about the Karlsson ice-time . Just saying my opinion.
