Default Marc Savard has been seriously injured

..in the on going game against the Pens. They are taking him off the ice on a stretcher.

I hate Matt Cooke...seriously!

IMO, Matt Cooke knew exactly what he was about to do... It was an open ice hit similar to Richards on Booth...

It didn't look good as far as concussion is concerned. The doctor even came on the ice...

Found this from an article about the hit

Quote:
One of the on-ice officials said to Bergeron of the hit, "He was finishing his check."

you can make the argument that he was finishing his check & I'd agree with it, but the fact is the way he finished his check, the deliberate forearm to the head that sets it apart from similar bodychecks

ESPN:

Savard, who took an elbow to the head in the third period of Sunday's game, has been diagnosed with a concussion, the Boston Globe reports.

According to coach Claude Julien, Savard (who was knocked unconscious briefly by the hit) will remain in Pittsburgh overnight. Julien added that he expects Savard to be out "for a while." This is a major blow to the B's playoff hopes, as Savard is one of the top offensive weapons on a team that has struggled to score all year long.

Isn't the hit similar to the one from Richards on Booth? Wasn't Richards suspended? Isn't Cooke a repeat offender?

This one really sucks for the Bruins....

Richards hit on booth was no suspension & was a clean hit...this one there is clear intent to injure, a malacious headshot...

Cooke's reputation definitely didn't help him either...but either way he deserves what he gets & probly more

I remember him CLEARELY...

Remember when he viciously hit Donovan from behind, which injured him about 2 months? He didn't get a single penalty, infact WE got a penalty for hooking (on Michalek)...

And the Richards hit was vicious. You wouldn't say that when you got hit like that. Maybe Richards wasn't trying to hit him that hard on purpose, but he shouldn't have done that. Even Philly fans were saying that was so unclassy of him. He is usually those guys who is rough, but never does dirty checks. And I doubt he will ever make a hit like that...I hope.

Anyways Cooke is one heck of a dirty player.
