Phaneuf on Okposo

Richards on Booth

Cooke on Savard

Yes, they were all the same. They should all be given a well deserved punishment.

They're not going to do anything to Cooke. It was a clean hit to the officials. I wasn't a very happy Penguins fan at that moment. I was upset with Cooke. He didn't need to hit him like that.

According to tsn.ca , repeat offender serious injury inducer Matt Cooke will not be suspended at all.. probably cause he is a Penguin.. crap what does it take for the league to do something with this guy.

Co-sign on the bold part 200%........as for the underlined part, it will take a serious injury that will put the NHL on the spot. This one is not severe enough yet (according to the NHL of course, not my personal opinion)

I think he is a disgrace to the game, to his team, his opponents and himself. The guy aims to injure pretty much every game and still manages to talk with a straight face.....

I don't know about you, but I don't trust this league to start handing out suspensions based on intent. They have enough trouble handing out suspensions for obvious violations -- imagine what they'd do with some room for interpretation. I'd rather see them have clear rules with clear consequences. When it comes to head shots, they don't have that today.

They should. They've had years to get this right. They could have done it last year. In fact, they could have done it this year, effective immediately, if they wanted to (remember when they invented the Avery rule in the middle of a playoff series?). Real leagues, with real leadership, make tough decisions like this all the time. The NHL could have done it too.

They just didn't. That's where the outrage should be. Not that they didn't find a reason to suspend Matt Cooke for a hit that was clean according to the rules; but because they have a set of rules that actually allow blindside hits aimed directly to the head in the first place.

I'm pretty 100% sure it's not cuz he's a Penguin. That was stupid. Do I think he should be suspended yes. And I'm a Penguins fan. It has nothing to do with what team he plays for. It has to do with the fact that according to the rules it was a clean hit. It's scary that a hit like that is "clean" cuz it's far from it. But that's what they say it is.

Who is surprised? Gary Bettman loves Crosby!

But yeah, headshots are never clean....I mean NEVER.

We are not ignorant..and we have a right to our opinion. You do not have to agree but you still have to accept it.

We may be totally wrong but guess what, it is still our opinion.

Most of us hate Cooke because he not only injures many players, but he took out Donovan..and was not called on it. He is a dirty useless player... I believe it is because he plays for the Pens that he has not been suspended everytime he should have been.

Am I wrong? Maybe, but in all fairness, Campbell is the most inconsistent man when it comes down to handing proper suspensions/fines or whatever........and IMO, this one deserved a suspension.

Ok well I think that it's completely ridiculous you think that it's because he's a Penguin. I'm pretty sure its not. Campbell is inconsistent when it comes to handing down suspensions. Blame Campbell. It's his call. I didn't like the hit and I'm not trying to back up Cooke for it of whatever I'm just saying that's a stupid excuse. And I have my opinion too. According to the rules the hit was clean. He used his shoulder and finished his check. It's sad that that's legal but it is what it is. They need to change the rules so that any hit to the head is illegal. But as of now it isn't.
