VERY well deserved. Lappierre is, and always will be, a joke.

Agree.

Well...As much as I hate Lapierre, I don't think this one deserved 4 games.

I have to disagree. It may be setting a precedent. This hit is the hit that defines lack of respect and by giving him 4 games it sends the message that the League will not tolerate this.

Yeah..like they are so consistent when they suspend players. I still think he got 4 games because of his name & reputation. Had Crosby done that, we wouldn't even be talking about this.

I think it's easily 4 games. Cross-check to the numbers from behind and the player gets injured. Add in the cheapshot factor because he was off-balance. It's because of Lappierre that the Habs are a cheap team, and I don't feel any sorrow for them when they miss the playoffs.

That's my first time seeing it, and that's EASILY 4 games.

He should get 4 games for the cross-check alone. And then 4 games for the boarding. Hell, you can throw in a couple of games for the two-hander if you like!

Ok, let me rephrase what I'm trying to say... I do agree about the suspension, I do agree Lapierre is a cheap player. However, I've seen worst hits, intentional or not, not receive the proper reviewing (penalty-fine-suspension..etc).

If the NHL was consistent in attributing said suspension, I would agree this one is just what it is suppose to be. In this case, I firmly believe nothing would have happend to Lapierre had the Sharks not complained about it, there was no penalty issued on said hit....and had Heatley done that to Lapierre...again, we wouldn't be talking about it.

4 games easily. A hit after the play with intent to injure. Its not like it was a race or battle for the puck, he had already put it on net was hit well after.

Just watched that clip again...and honestly, there is no way the ref standing right there missed that call. If he really did(?), it just means he wasn't fallowing the play....

I thought having two refs on the ice at all time would bring a little more stability...I was dead wrong. Officiating has been going from bad to worst ever since they implanted this system. I wonder if its the lack of communication between them...or they are just plain incompetent.

Just another shining example of how inept these refs really are on the ice. They need held accountable when crap like this happens.

As for the suspension, fully deserved 4 games.
