So then, if another team picks him up, he just made a cool $1.5 million. Sounds like a favour to me...

Thing is, I doubt teams are lining up for his services........they could have a least put him on waivers and see if there is interest for the guy ...
That said, at least he will be paid to stay away...the money is still coming in..
