I read this sentence about 5 times, and I still don't understand... what do you mean about that?

Some people seem to feel EXTRA sorry that he was bought out, because his family is from Haiti so it's a hard time for him. But if he needs to be spending time there, well this is great news for him. He doesn't have to worry about honouring his contract; he's free to go help out.

This is what I mean...poor form if you ask me. Why not waive him?

ohh ok, I understand what your mean.

I agree also, he didn't have to mention the Haiti situation, as unfortunate as it is. I mean what does him being let go from a team and Haiti have anything to do with eachother, nothing. He was still comming to work everyday, wasnt he?

Laraque said that he and Gainey had a talk yesterday (Wednesday) about him being granted a leave of absence to go to Haiti to be with any family or friends that are there. He declined and said he didn't need to go.

I guess that was Gainey's secret way of telling him to GTFO.

I understand the move, but I don't understand what he meant by Laraque being a distraction. Not being as productive and not playing well at all, I understand, but him being a distraction? I don't understand.

Maybe it's something like "Oh man, we're playing such and such a team. Those dirty f**ks, someone should go tell coach to play Laraque." Or maybe he parties a lot on the road, making him a fun guy to be around but a distraction nonetheless.
