Default Chiodo update

From Sharp's blog in Bingo..
----------

Had an interesting talk with Andy Chiodo, who expects to miss about a week because of the groin injury he suffered Friday night while making his debut with the ECHL's Elmira Jackals.

Chiodo was back in Binghamton on Monday to rehab with the B-Sens this week. And injury aside, returning to Binghamton was apparently the plan all along.

"The plan was just to go down for Friday night and Saturday night," said Chiodo, who was assigned to the Jackals last Friday. "And I was coming back Saturday night anyway. Unfortunately I didn't get through the games, but either way I'd be back here right now."

He added soon after, when asked about his mindset going to Elmira: "I think they just wanted all three of us playing on the weekend. And I guess Holtsie (Chris Holt) went down last week, and I was going to go down and get a couple games this weekend, come back Sunday, and re-evaluate the situation depending on how things went up here. So ... it is what it is. Ideally you'd like to play the games up here, but the situation was such that they asked me if I would go down for the weekend to play a couple games, and I agreed to do so."

And so, it appears this goaltending situation is still very much a fluid one. The issue might be moot this weekend if Chiodo is still out injured, but it will certainly be interesting to see if, moving forward, the B-Sens continue with a rotation or eventually hammer out a more defined top-two tandem.

A few other comments from Chiodo, regarding the injury:

"It isn't as bad as they thought at first. Just strained a little bit of muscle. It's not even that high in the groin, it's more of like my leg. And I should be back probably in a week. ...

"I did it in the first period ... early in the first period. And kind of played on it. And when I settled down in the intermission, I realized that I shouldn't go any longer on it. And good thing, it's not near as long as we thought it would be."
