Along with my studies, i try to practice and take time to become a scout. I go to Sweden about once a year and there i get to see a lot of prospects, when i come back i usually tell my friend at Sportsnet what i think of some prospects. He than goes around talking about this guy and he told me hopefully when i find a big catch, he will get the attention of his bosses and lead them to me...

It's going to take some time but i slowly try to find out more and more about player's talents and raw skills.

It's also going to be real good for me cause as i get older i will mature my thinking and add that to my experience..Hopefully.

I'm studying astronomy, haha, what a long ways away from being a scout. I love the sport of hockey and when i go to Sweden, i have to watch like 4 games per week, live.

Awesome Actually, once I get it started, I'll probably ask you to help out for the research. If you're interested, and my book got published, you'd be fully credited and would have your name in print...

Epic. I have to admit though, hockey of the 90s (especially early 90s) is not my strong point. I didn't become a major hockey fan until the late 90s and it's something I've never bothered to study too much because everybody already knows about it to some extent.

I think it'd be awesome to be the official photographer for a team. That or even just working for a media outlet as a photographer to cover games.

I think it would be really hard to watch the game through the camera, though. I mean, the times that would make the best shots would be exactly the times I'd be tempted to look up and watch the play

That's very true, but it's just part of being a sports photographer. You've got to learn to watch the game through the lens.

Not to mention, the fact that you're getting PAID to be at a game...I wouldn't mind missing a few key plays if it meant free admission + a seat on the glass...even if that seat is a milk crate

Oh, definitely. The motivation would be there for me, but I'm pretty sure I'd be horrible at the job because I wouldn't be able to help myself from looking up. I guess that kind of concentration and patience comes with being a photographer though...
