Ovie should miss rest of the season. Best way to enforce stopping crap like that is for the offending player to miss the number of games the victim missed from injury
I know its out there but its only fair to Campbell

I kind of agree with that. But if you did that you'd have a lot of guys out for a while. That hit was dirty. My dad doesn't get hockey and I was talking to him about it and he said it didn't seem that bad. But it is. When I was getting certified to coach the guy leading the session has said he's seen 2 kids get hit like that and one broke his neck and is now paralysed. It's crazy. Ovie knew what he was doing. I'm sorry but if he wants to be a good example for the NHL he needs to clean up his act. That's why he'll never get the attention by the NHL that Crosby does b/c he's dirty. That's not who you want to be the face of the league.

Yeah true. I feel like he should've got more b/c I think the last similar incident like someone already posted the culprit got 3 games. So that's the precedent so that's what should've happend IMO.

I already kinda lost respect for the NHL...in one way.

That was not a VERY dirty hit. Just dirty enough though.
The position of Campbell was horrific. His legs looked like he was going to crouch.
Ovie gave him a strong push but not THAT strong to cause all that damage.
What Ovie did wrong was that he took advantage of Campbell's vulnerable position. If anything, Campbell but himself into that situation.
Yes i want that to change but rules have to be set cause that's hockey.
You under a vulnerable position you gonna face the consequences.

I will agree... I don't think that this was the MOST dirty hit in the world, But I don't think it was clean either.
And frankly, there needs to be a more strict way of discipline. If Ovie got suspended, and Downie got nothing (just because Crosby didn't get hurt) well thats ridiculous! Downie's hit looked ALOT worse than Ovie's.
But thats my opinion. Either way, there needs to be something done about the inconsistency of punishment!

Had Ovechkin not let up and fully finished his check it would have been horrific! I might get the kitchen sink thrown at me BUT given the fact he let up realizing Campbell was in a vulnerable position I'm happy with the 2 games.

As it should be in minor hockey But the Ov hit was nothing less that a push to a player that can not skate as well and is not as strong as Ovechkin. No intent to injure on his behalf.

I don't see any intent to injure from Ovechkin at all on that play.
But he still deserves that suspension, it is a careless play and I'd have suspended him longer.

Ya ya ya blah blah blah but you are still wrong I go with what the coach that brought us a gold medal said. Never thought I would ever like Babcock but he rocks
Quote
Mike Babcock: Well, I didn't comment on Cooke, to me the other one is way more severe than this one. In my opinion when I watched it, and I've seen all the angles, it's a stronger guy pushing another guy. The accident, it's very unfortunate, that it happened. To me I didn't think it was... oh well, I am not in charge... I don't know.
