'72 Summit Series: Team Canada (NHL superstars) VS Team Soviet (International superstars + NHL superstars)

Miracle on Ice: Team USA (Amateur + Colledge players) VS Team Soviet (International superstars + NHL superstars)

Alexei Katastonov: He was a 40 point getting defencemen. Really good.
Viyacheslav Fetisov: Was already past his prime, but he did made impact in his 1st year in the NHL.
Sergei Makarov: Just phenominal. Definately a superstar.

And probably more.

All played in the NHL well after 1980 not during 1980.

I am not disputing your opinion just the facts you use to defend them.
