Hockey Rumor Thread
Post any rumors (trade, signing, ...etc.)
Here is couple of rumors that I heared from my friend...
Sens are looking for another defencemen (why?).
It is likely "impossible", cause not only is he injured, but his career is jeopardy. But heared that Leafs are making an offer to San Jose (that would include Van Ryn).
The loss of Markov is killing the habs, so it is quite clear that they are trying to get another defencemen. If Marc-Andre Bergeron (was it his name?) doesn't help, they are talking Dan Hamhuis.
Leafs - Hawks rumor. Leafs are looking for defencemen (they already have enough skilled ones but...). Hawks wants to get rid of Campbell. So maybe can this help?
You guys already might know, but there is rumors that Burke is looking for Kessel's linemate.
Panthers might be shopping Horton, who is off to a cold streak this season.
The Fourth Period :: Florida Panthers :: Panthers shopping Horton?
Stars are looking for upgrade on their PP, but reported that they will not trade James Neal and Loui Eriksson.
They are willing to trade Fabian Brunnstrom, who was highly coveted by number of teams last year. The Fourth Period :: Dallas Stars :: Stars shopping Brunnstrom?
Nylander is willing to accept trade, who is even willing to play in the KHL.
The Fourth Period :: Washington Capitals :: Nylander willing to accept trade
The ones that don't have the link are all rumors that I heared from my friend.

Teams such as Chicago, Detroit and Washington are interested in Jaroslav Halak, however, with Price's poor play, Halak could end up becoming the starter in Montreal this year. Gainey likely won't trade Halak unless it's for a big center they've always needed.
Edmonton could shop Andrew Cogliano as the team wants to get bigger down the middle.
Kovalchuk might bolt to the KHL if a KHL team offers him a big salary.
Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews will begin talks with the Blackhawks this week.
All from spectors.

That would not be smart. I think Halak will become the starter because Price sucks pretty bad.

I've always liked Halak. Nylander is a pretty good player too... hard to say...

Halak would do a lot better if he was on another team.

True.
I have a feeling that atleast right now, he wants to leave the habs.
Part of it is probably the attitude of the fans. Remember the "hooray" by Price? Roy did the same thing, than he left the team.

Here are some rumors that I heared...
Few Russian team are still intrested in Micheal Nylander. Remember that Nylander is willing to get traded (although he does have a NTC) or moved. Even if its the KHL.
Sergei Kostysin would be called up or get traded in the coming weeks
Ryan Kesler's contract extension might not work out due to the decrease of an icetime. Same said to Scott Hartnell.
Shanahan is willing to continue his hockey career. There is a rumor that Bruins is intrested, but forget about it. It looks like its completely false, since his agent said that Shanahan is not on the Bruins radar.
NY Islander might be intrested in Shanahan, but says that it would be a hard decision. Because he is not the force that he used to be.

The Islanders won't be signing Shanahan. They have absolutely zero need for a player like that for this year.

Wild GM admits that he had trade talks with several teams in the past couple of weeks. There is a strong rumor that the Wild is shopping goalie Josh Harding. Other noticible rumor is that Bouchard and Clutterbuck might also get traded.
Sad, and so untrue rumors... Fadoo.ca: Could Leafs Pursue Savard?
Fadoo.ca: Bruins Interested in Kovalchuk?

My friend told me that the only intrest Islander has is the leadership, not his offensive skills.
Since they have a lot of young guys this season, guys like Doug Weight, Brian Rolston, and Brendan Shanahan would help.

I heard a rumor that has the Sens going after a number 1 all around defenceman if their defensive woes struggle it is still the beggining of the season but my friend in sportsnet does indicate that Brent Burns of the wild is a possibilty and a player they are looking at is Foligno.

It can't happen, cause Wild GM announced that if they are going to make the trade, they will not include guys such as Mikko Koivu, Nicklas Backstrom, and Brent Burns.
It would be neat though.
I heared that they are talking about Dan Hamhuis, Paul Ranger, Brent Seabrook, and (I would definately hate this one) Brian Campbell.
I highly doubt the Campbell one, since he has a fat contract. Seabrook is more of a defensive defencemen. So its likely going to be these 2 (Hamhuis, or Ranger).
Wild wants a player that is strong (healthy), and also a top 6 foward.

Here are couple of rumors
Another Frolov rumor (it never ends...): Hawks are quite intrested in him (if you have money to get him, sign Sharp for god sakes...).
Leafs are also intrested in Frolov, and are willing to trade one of there goalies...which will likely be Toskala, who is not playing well.
A retarded post by Eklund (the Richard part):
HockeyBuzz.com - Eklund - Sunday Question...So What Does Your Team Need? (Pending UFA's)
Its PHANEUF, not Iginla. Does he honestly think Iginla would made that kind of unsportsmanlike hit.

Shanahan and Chelios should both be playing in the NHL. I think it's a shame, and I'd love to have both on the Sens.
