Is Chelios playing in the NHL just to beat Gordie Howe's record?
Cause I'm getting the feeling that he is.

Which kind of shows how much he loves the game! And yet he gets bashed for being "too old to play". I'll take the millionaire player who could retire tomorrow but just wants to play over the 20 year old kid who's in it to strike gold and GTFO any day...

I would too, but you can't give them preferential treatment if they don't have the skills to compete anymore.

Well time for some rumors!
*Stephan Yelle placed on Waivers...hmmm
*Pens are apperantly looking for a winger who would be playing with Crosby. The lack of Crosby's production (he scored a hattricktonight but... ) is because of the lack of quality linemate.
*Montreal Radio station announced that Carey Price was traded to Christobal Huet. Of Course this rumor is "FALSE".
*Very Hot Kaberle will not only make the leafs win more games, but will try boost his trade value if Burke is willing to trade him. Remember Kaberle has a NTC, but is not worth much if Burke decides he (Kaberle) should go.
*Phillys are struggling with couple of injuries (Gagne...). They have no intrest in Shanahan, ALTHOUGH if this injury curse gets worse, they might change there mind.
*The rumor: Tom Gilbert FOR Drew Stafford is FALSE. Although Buffalo is looking for a offensive defencemen.
*Marc Savard's contract negotian hasn't worked out well for the Bruins...
*Habs are looking foward to get an offensive defencemen, due to the absence of Markov. Trading both Kostysin might be the best idea for the habs. They are seeking Edmonton, people say.
*Another Kostysin rumor. There is another trouble maker in LA, his name is Alex Frolov. He wants to leave the team...NOW!
So why not take this chance and make the deal. But people need to realize that he is UFA next off season...

Rumor has it that if Sens stay in playoff contention and look to be making a serious push for contention that Murray might consider a move to aquire a number 1 defenceman to strength their defensive corps and give Leclaire some solid help so he can be on top of his game.

Heared that from my friend too
Anyways here are some rumors
*Habs rumor never ends...but there is one that Carey Price COULD get traded. Except habs are not selling him, some team has to buy him.
*Other team would LOVE to have Plekanic, although his value is pretty high right now...
*Avs wants a D-men, Sabres wants speedy foward.
*Flyers announced AGAIN , that they have absolutely NO INTREST in Shanahan. Although they have not ruled out acquring foward.

Responding to the Habs rumors posted, apparently, it's a goalie us Habs fans would love. So, the only goalie I'd love to come to Montreal, is Roberto Luongo or Henrik Lundqvist. Otherwise, it's not someone I'll love.
And Plekanec ain't going no where. Lapierre ain't second line center material. Plekanec is back on track with his career it seems, so, yeah, he's not up for grabs.

Other rumors...
*Anaheim Ducks signed Kyle Calder to a 2 way contract
*Scott Cruickshank recently reported the strong play of forward Rene Bourque could make re-signing him an expensive proposition for the Calgary Flames, suggesting potential comparable players like Dustin Byfuglien, Nathan Horton, Dan Cleary, Ryan Clowe, Tuomo Ruutu, Dustin Brown, Brendan Morrow, Scott Hartnell and Ryan Malone, whose salaries fall in the range between $2.8 million - $4.5 million.
*Ranger leaves Ligtning for personal buisness
*Kaberle has a NTC, but if Burke wants him to leave, he is good to go.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere to Toronto for Alexei Ponikarovsky is a possibility. Toronto is in need of a goaltender and Anaheim is in need of scoring depth early in the season.
Buffalo could try to retain former Sabre Martin Biron from the Islanders as there is not a lot of confidence in current back-up, Patrick Lalime.
The New York Rangers are looking to move Chris Higgins, who is off to a slow start to the season.

I don't think Toronto will want 3 goalies that has the potential to be a starter. They also have Joey McDonnald in the farm, who is really good to.
Anyways here are some rumors...
*Neidermeyer might consider moving back to NJ, or maybe the Philly where Pronger plays.
*Ray Whitney might be moving to Calgary
*Biron might be the clue to teams such as Buffalo (as Rayzor already posted), and Detroit.
*The Carey Price rumor (is this ever gonna end???). If they are going to trade Price, it says that they will rather make the decision quick...than just waiting. Sergei Kostysin might be packaged with him.
*Detroit might try to get Toskala, since the Redwings are having big problems in goaltender.
*Nylander played his last game in the AHL. He will neither play in the KHL or become a "loaner".
Here are the rumors from TSH
Bruce Garrioch reports the Chicago Blackhawks limited cap space and need to re-sign stars Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and Duncan Keith has led to some interesting names being dangled as trade bait, such as defenseman Brian Campbell, who was offered to the Ottawa Senators last summer for Dany Heatley. He also cites a league executive speculating forwards Patrick Sharp or Kris Versteeg could be available....the NY Rangers are trying to move struggling winger Christopher Higgins...the Barry Trotz era could be over in Nashville as the Predators are 5-6-1...Minnesota Wild GM Chuck Fletcher is shopping for a scoring forward...Forget the talk of the Canadiens shopping goalie Carey Price as GM Bob Gainey still believes Price is his team's goalie of the future. Garrioch claims several teams have inquired about Jaroslav Halak but Gainey won't move him until Price fixes his game...Some NHL insiders are wondering if Maple Leafs coach Ron Wilson will last the season...Anaheim GM Bob Murray is itching to make a deal with his team off to a rough start. He's seeking scoring depth and Todd Marchant is likely available but there's isn't much market for role players these days. Teams are interested in forward Bobby Ryan but he's not going anywhere.
Pierre LeBrun reports a trade that "makes too much sense" is Anaheim goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere going to Toronto, as the Leafs are on his short list of preferred destinations and moving him would free up considerable cap space for the Ducks. LeBrun believes the Leafs may have given acquiring Giguere some serious thought and noted the Leafs will have some extra bodies at forward when Phil Kessel makes his debut later this month, suggesting shopping a player like Alexei Ponikarovsky to the Ducks...The Washington Capitals could - like the Chicago Blackhawks - face some salary cap issues next summer. They've begun preliminary talks with impending RFAs Nicklas Backstrom and Alexander Semin although LeBrun hears talks with the latter "aren't going well", noting the "usual rumblings" that several KHL teams could be interested in him if he's unsigned next July. They'll also have to make a decision over re-signing goalie Jose Theodore who's eligible for UFA status...Talks continue between the Atlanta Thrashers and Ilya Kovalchuk's agent but the Thrashers won't let this drag on throughout the season...Carolina Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford hasn't given up on the season and still believes in the core of his team but with nine contracts due to come off the books next summer he's in the market for some youth.
Steve Simmons dismissed speculation the Maple Leafs might find a market for struggling goaltender Vesa Toskala, suggesting the only chance the Leafs have to move him before the trade deadline is to demote him and then place him on recall waivers and even then it's a long shot a rival team claims him.
Jim Matheson reports of some talk the Buffalo Sabres might try to acquire former Sabre Martin Biron from the NY Islanders due to a lack of confidence in backup Patrick Lalime.
The hot rumors this month will likely be
*Chicago BlackHawks moving stars (such as Sharp, Versteeg, Campbell...etc.)
*Carey Price Rumor
*The Kostysin's
*Ducks seeking depth, Detroit looking goalie, Wild & Oilers looking for star foward
Octobers's hot rumors were
*Shanahan rumor
*Nylander rumor
*Kostysin Rumor
*Carey Price rumor

Here are some rumors...
*NJ looking for a defencemen, since Paul Martin and Johnny Oduya is sidelined
*Flyers are intrested in Forsberg, and will send scouts to Sweden. Avs are not sure if they still have intrest in Forsberg. There is also a rumor that Caps are seeking to get him.
Ok...habs are in REAL danger. There are some strikes going on with the players...
*Andrei Kostysin says that the lack of production is due to the lack of ice time. He was send down to the 4th line, because he was not playing as a top 6 foward. Andrei is VERY close to joining his younger brother in Hamilton, and maybe Georges Laraque might join them.
And Rayzor, looks like the Hurricanes/Whitney rumor is true too
*Hurricanes GM is extremely disappointed with how the team is doing right now, and if they keep playing like this, he announced that he would have to make many changes in the team. But trades would be hard right now, because of the Salary Cap.
There is a rumor about Jean Sebastien Gigure to Toronto but...WTF? Why does people say "It makes total sense"? Why would Leafs want 3 (or maybe 4) goalies who have the potential to be a starter? Its @@@@in retarded, talk about BS.
*Pettinger has signed with the Canucks
*Rangers are shopping winger Higgins, who is not doing well this season.

But looks like if he is going to get traded, habs won't wait for it.
I wouldn't be surprised, because there is Halak. He has potential to be a starter.
He might move to a team like Detroit, or maybe even Carolina.

But Carey Price has potential too. So why would they trade him without giving him at least one more chance?
About A Kostistyn. Get your f***ing head in the game. On the fourth line, you play like a champ, on the second line, you're skating on quick sand. Learn to play a consistent game when you can put up numbers and play top six minutes, and then you'll stay with the big club. Waive AK, I don't care, he has almost no value anymore and it'll be hard to get something good for him.
Whitney has a NTC, and seems to like it in Carolina. So we'll see.
Toronto can send MacDonald or Toskala to Anaheim for Giguere. Toskala/MacDonald can be back-up to Hiller.
If we can take Laraque's salary cap off the payroll and open up 1.5, go for it. He's so f***ing useless it's not even funny.

I think it's a stupid idea to trade Price. Is Gainey shopping him around? Who knows. But I don't think he is. He's 21 years old and a starter in a slump. The value of goalies in the league isn't that great, and because Price isn't playing to his full potential means his value is even lesser.
