I always find Canadian border guards a little more slack, and nicer. Americans are a little mean sometimes, and have NO sense of humour! (just from my own experience).

Just heard that Thomas Vanek has a stomach hematoma (basically a bruise that's beneath the skin). He's doubtful for the next game.

Paul Mara left yesterday's game vs the Atlanta Thrashers with an apparent hand injury. He's out for tomorrow's game vs Atlanta.

Roman Hamrlik is out with a left knee injury and has discomfort while turning. He'll be back after the break.

Brian Gionta suffered a setback in his injury and was advised to stay off skates for four days. He'll return after the break.

Marc-Andre Bergeron skipped practice today after suffering a stiff neck while hitting the goal post last night while scoring the OT winner against Atlanta, but he'll be fine for tomorrow night vs Carolina.

Thats why he's been out! Ahhh, well, that sucks. Just takes time for the body to reabsorb. lol.

They're painful as all hell!

I had one on the base of my thumb, I couldn't use my hand properly for weeks.

Its true they are. I had a tiny tiny one in my elbow, and any time I moved ever so slightly it was like intense pain. But it did go away fairly quickly. I guess it all depends on how big it is.

Ray Emery was loaned to the AHL Affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers (Phantoms) for one day for conditioning purposes and will be back by Sunday.

I think he'll be able to play with a full face mask if it's a broken jaw, no? Maybe miss a week or two before returning with a full face mask.
